Despacito is a song from 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most streamed track worldwide within just six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop which not only brought attention to Latin music but also reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 in 2015 had two songs that were mostly Spanish languages, while the year the year 2016 featured four. The popularity of Despacito reached its peak in the year 2017. In 2020, 41 mostly Spanish songs will make the Top 100. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) famous artists began to collaborate with reggaeton performers including Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) and Madonna together with Maluma on Medellin (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton stars were complaining about its inclination towards mainstream, but a new generation, led by Rauw Alejandro, sought to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. He used elements from other genres and electronic music.
