Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She grew on an estate in south London council estate and when she was fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an BA in acting. In her time at the school, she performed in a variety of stage productions including King Henry V's princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her career as an actor with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she's been a guest star on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. Following that success her role was Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. She also was offered the part in the role of Bambi in The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the episodes two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedic How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast in the US on The CW before being cancelled. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as the main character she appeared as a guest in the very first episode of season three. From 2014 to 2016she appeared in Salem in the role of Tituba. In June 2012, Madekwe got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her parents Roy and Patty and her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks because her four athletic brothers all played baseball, hockey, and basketball in winter and summer. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She danced. At just 2 1/2 years old and a half, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley became passionate about dance after this. Ashley continued to perform competitively until her high-school graduation in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and more. She also won top soloists awards in all important dance competitions including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
